Vela takes 3rd U.S. SUP Surf Champs!

Huntington Beach played host to the first ever U.S. SUP Surfing Championships this past weekend. This was the first time SUP has been invited to compete amongst the surfers for the chance to be crowned a U.S. SUP Surfing Champion.

With such late notice of the event adding SUP the event managed to bring out a good crop of SUP shredders last minute. Dave Boehne, Chuck Patterson, Daniel Hughes, Noa Yapp, Emmy Merril, Candice Appleby, etc... all came out to support and compete.

Anthony Vela competed on the Infinity Team Label Boardworks 8'5" production board and was ripping all event. Dropping down to 3rd in the final seconds of the event... Dave looked strong early on with turns like this one... fell short in the semi final for an equal 5th Place finish
